Dan Duggan
Dan and his wife Susan live on a small farm in Swanton where they raised four children; they are now blessed with two granddaughters. Dan is a military veteran having served in both the active and reserved components of the United States Marine Corps. He retired after 20 years of service as a Gunnery Sergeant. Prior to his career in real estate, Dan served the citizens of Garrett County for 25 years as a deputy sheriff. He considers his career in law-enforcement a true honor and privilege. Dan also served the citizens of Garrett County for two terms as a Judge of Orphans’ Court. Shortly after investiture in 2014, Governor Larry Hogan appointed Dan Chief Judge of the Orphans’ Court.
As retirement from his law enforcement career drew close, Dan decided to become a real estate appraiser. In 2022 he opened his own appraisal practice, Mountaintop Appraisal Service, LLC. “As a natural complement to the appraisal work, I decided to obtain licensure as a salesperson.” Upon licensure, Dan affiliated with Broker Melvin (Chip) Smith of One Real Estate Source, LLC. “I chose to affiliate my license with Melvin (Chip) Smith because he is engaged, honest and competent. He has been a trusted friend and mentor for over 30 years.” Dan was also a longtime soccer coach and board member with the Mountaintop Soccer Association.
He has also held memberships in the Lions Club, VFW, American Legion, Marine Corp League, Fraternal Order of Police, Garrett County Historical Society and Deep Creek Volunteer Fire Company. Dan has no intention of retiring; he views his career in real estate as a continuation of the responsibility of maintaining public trust and another opportunity to serve people.
David Meyer

Prior to real estate I spent over 34 years active and part time with the US Army. In addition I spent 14 years as purchasing manager for the power industry/industrial sales/manufacturing industries. I have negotiated contracts between $10 thousand and $10 million with International corporations such as GE and negotiated large renovation contracts as much as $20 million with large and small contractors. I also have 3 years’ experience with the Vacation rental giant Vacasa as a vacation home sales manager. I assisted my father with our family constructions business and, in late 2005 when my father came down with cancer, I left my service in the Army (Germany) to run the family business during his length recoup period.
